Multi-Point Inspection

What to Expect with a Multi-Point Inspection

A multi-point inspection is a bit different from a needed immediate repair but is necessary for a car to undergo in order to maintain peak performance. Usually, it's conducted along with manufacturer recommended routine maintenance such as an oil change or tire rotation.

The inspection consists of the mechanic checking fluid levels and making sure they aren't contaminated, along with a visual inspection of moving parts to assure they don't have more wear than expected. If they do, the proper repairs and replacements will be made.

Why Your Car Needs Regular Inspections

The fact is, your car generates a lot of power to move a fair amount of weight down the road at high speeds. Of course, the engineered vehicle understands those forces and designed the car to withstand them, but it does cause wear over time.

Certain driving styles, road conditions, or weather can exacerbate such forces and cause the car to break down. It's much better to fix any weak points or minor problems as they arise rather than waiting for the car to break down on the side of the road.

What Can Happen if an Inspection Isn't Completed

Without regular inspections and routine maintenance, the car's performance will suffer. It might start getting poor gas mileage, perhaps it won't accelerate or handle well, or become dangerously bad when braking. Worse yet is that once something goes wrong, it tends to cause other problems as the systems are meant to work together.

Such an issue leads to further needed repairs which are more expensive than replacing parts that are relatively inexpensive and designed to be replaced easily. It's easy to think an inspection isn't needed because the car seems to run well at the moment, but it is much less expensive than missed work and more intricate repairs which can come up if the car isn't properly serviced according to the recommended time schedule.

Choosing an Authorized Service Center - Such as Tindol Ford

Of course, there are reputable local mechanics who can do great work, but the problem with such is they might not always understand the intricacies of a particular make and model of vehicle the same way a dealer who employs certified technicians does. There could be a recall or warranty which applies to a specific repair which reduces or eliminates expenses.

An authorized service center such as Tindol Ford - serving Charlotte along with Belmont and Mt. Holly areas - will be aware of such issues, know what to look for, and how to fix the issue. You'll also find us to be professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with.
